The Alaska Senate is scheduled to vote on a resolution applauding state officials for fighting federal overreach.
SJR2, by Sen. Fred Dyson, is among several pieces of legislation being discussed this session that deal with the federal government overstepping its bounds.
The measure supports actions taken by the Parnell administration to protect Alaska from federal interference with state sovereignty. It also urges Congress and the president “to honor the state’s equal footing with the other states and recede from overextending federal authority into management of state resources.”
A vote on the measure could come as early as Friday.
