State lawmakers pre-filed dozens of bills on Monday in anticipation of the start of the 2013 legislative session next week in Juneau.
The pre-filed bills cover a wide array of topics, from reducing the cost of school loans to adding definitions for gravity knives and switchblades into criminal law.
Rep. Mia Costello, R-Anchorage, says HB45 would require school districts to have a cyberbullying policy in place. She says the bill came about because an Anchorage high school student asked her to do something about cyberbullying in the schools.
Rep. Max Gruenberg, D-Anchorage, says HB10 addresses issues raised under former Gov. Sarah Palin’s tenure. If approved, the bill would only allow certain public officials to be reimbursed for legal fees in defending against ethics complaints if they were exonerated.
