The Rasmuson Foundation is committing millions of dollars over the next four years to support the arts in Alaska.
The foundation’s board of directors has approved $8.5 million to support the arts and strengthen cultural institutions across the state. The money will be used for a variety of things, including awards to individual artists, grants to bring artists and exhibits to communities throughout Alaska, the acquisition of artwork and art education.
The foundation has been supporting the arts for nearly a decade. During that time it has provided about $22 million in the form of more than 900 grants.
