Halcro tapped as Anchorage chamber president
Former Alaska state Representative and gubernatorial candidate Andrew Halcro has been tapped as the new president of the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce.
The Anchorage Daily News says the 48-year-old Halcro will begin his new job in early January.
Halcro served two terms in the state House, ran for governor as an independent candidate in 2006 and has served as an executive in his family’s rental car business, the Avis Alaska franchise. He also authored a blog on Alaska politics and public policy.
The chamber is the state’s largest non-profit business organization with almost 1,100 members employing about 54,000 people.
