A private airplane made an emergency landing on the Parks Highway near Willow.
Alaska State Troopers say 39-year-old pilot Chienwen Liu took off from Talkeetna in a rented Cessna 152 on Tuesday and that the airplane’s engine stopped.
Liu told troopers he attempted to restart the engine but could not, so he chose to land on the highway.
Troopers took a call on the incident just after 6:30 p.m.
They found the airplane in a highway pullout near Mile 94.5.
Neither Liu nor a passenger, 37-year-old Fang H. Lin of Bakersfield, Calif., was injured.
They had flown from Anchorage to Talkeetna earlier that day.
