Corrections officer attacked in Seward prison
Alaska State Troopers say a corrections officer was injured in an attack by three inmates at Spring Creek Correctional Center.
Troopers tell the Anchorage Daily News that the officer, whose name was not released, was working in inmate housing Wednesday morning when he was attacked by one inmate.
Troopers say two other prisoners joined the assault.
The Department of Corrections says the officer was able to call for help.
He and the inmates who joined the attack were injured and taken to hospitals.
The officer has been released from a Seward medical facility.
