KTUU fires reporter for alleged “inappropriate” online chat
Anchorage NBC affiliate KTUU has fired reporter Dan Fiorucci for allegedly taking part in an inappropriate online chat.
In a statement posted on KTUU’s website Tuesday, President and General Manager Andy MacLeod says the station immediately contacted Anchorage police after hearing about the incident on Friday. MacLeod declined further comment when reached by The Associated Press.
Anchorage Police Spokesman Lt. Dave Parker says the online chat involved sexual content, allegedly directed at a minor. Parker says the the case was turned over to the cyber crimes unit.
No charges have been filed.
Fiorucci was KTUU’s Juneau correspondent during the 2012 legislative session.
