We’ll get the details on pre-engineering courses at UAS with Assistant Professor of Engineering Lori Sowa, who coordinates the program, and from Max Martell, one of the students in the pre-engineering program; we’ll hear about the Sitka Soup, a newspaper and website run by Will Swagell, and hear The Bight Before Christmas, Will’s Sitka version of the classical Christmas poem set for fishermen in Alaskan waters, now available in book form from local booksellers, and we’ll talk with local guitarist Dan Hopson about his musical career and new Solo Classical Guitar CD.
MudroomsReal people. real stories. Live, on stage. “Mudrooms” is a community-powered monthly event in Juneau, where real people tell real stories, live. Anchorage has “Arctic Entries”. Focus On Community“Focus on Community” is an hour long, public affairs program hosted by different volunteer, community members each week. The format ranges from in-studio discussions, to live call-ins. Topics vary from peace initiatives to mental health problems to hotly debated town issues. Any and all community members are invited to present a show idea and work with us to bring it the air.
