The next Focus On Community, August 15th, will be hosted by Juneau’s Veterans For Peace. Their program, titled “Peace Talk”, will examine the results of the VFP national convention, convening in Portland August 6-7, 2011. The most controversial issue at the convention is a proposed resolution calling for the impeachment of President Obama for his war policies, including the Libya incursion. One of the show’s hosts, Rich Moniak, is attending the convention and will speak about it on the program.

- The Juneau Assembly will be asked next week to approve $3.06 million in pay increases for employees at Bartlett Regional Hospital. That's after the city-owned hospital's board of directors approved a tentative agreement with its unionized workforce after more than a year of negotiations that ended with the help of federal mediators.
